Finding the Extraordinary in the Ordinary with Mike Killelea

Discover the inherent beauty waiting in the most ordinary things. Through his demonstrations and hands on critique, watercolor artist and author Mike Killelea will help you develop your skills. See all the beautiful images that fill the world around you in this four day watercolor workshop. Intermediate and advance students, a suggested supply list will be provided.

Assemblages with Gerald Mead

In the first session, Gerald will give a slide presentation showing both historic and contemporary approaches to assemblage. During the second and third sessions participants will use the objects and materials they have brought in to create their own assemblage. Construction, balance, concept and assembly are among issues that will be discussed. A supply list will be provided on the first night.

Students will learn to construct and bind their very own hardcover sketchbooks, which they will use throughout the course (and beyond!) with a new, subject-based drawing "challenge" each week. These weekly projects will help students develop both drawing and observational skills as well as give them the opportunity to explore their surroundings in a fresh, new way. Best of all, these sketchbooks will give the students a very portable means to document their lives via pictures and words, and share their own personal stories and expressions through art.

Learning Art History through Painting with Anne Paulk
