Definition of terms and access policies
Individuals – Members, artist members and employees of BAS have access to offices, studios, and public areas at all times with one exception: BAS members are restricted from using the kitchen during events, as described below.

Workshops – Arts programming can take place in BAS spaces. Normal rental fees will not apply. Suggested donations range from $50-$100, depending on size and duration of the program. Details must be worked out four weeks in advance.

Event – Rental prices apply only to events. Whether or not a gathering is an event is subject to BAS staff determination. In general, an event involves several of the following: more than 50 people, more than 2 hours in duration, admission charges, catering, and/or wait staff. .

Audiovisual guidelines
Organizations must supply their own audiovisual equipment. They must also supply the BAS with information regarding the source and quality of equipment (required on event contract), which is brought into BAS spaces. BAS retains the right to forbid the use of equipment judged substandard or dangerously decrepit. Renter must also discuss with BAS ahead of time the location and number of outlets required.

Capacity
Attendance at any event should not exceed 650.

Noise
Amplified sound should be kept at a reasonable level. A person without major hearing loss should be able to hear another person speaking an arm’s length away in a normal voice.
