Collage was the primary medium used for artist Romare Bearden’s expressions. A 20th c. man of many talents, Bearden infused a love of jazz, nature and African American family traditions in urban and rural narrative themes. He linked the abstract style of Cubists to improvisation of jazz and poetry. We’ll explore ALL of these via a video glance of Bearden at work, while you also create a collage of your own ideas to tell a story! This class is online.
